Repairing or modifying automobiles and trucks can require very precise measurement. Tasks such as setting proper distance or alignment can be critical to vehicle operation. However, securing a measuring fixture to a stable, reliable surface can be very challenging inside an engine compartment with many parts at odd angles in a tightly confined space.
